A wartime example, featuring a black felt top with a separately affixed tally featuring the cap insignia of an army musician, with a bullion lyre (lira) on a red background, gilt bullion chinstrap with original brass buttons each also featuring a lyre (lira); exterior of visor in black leather with interior in green leather, interior of cap presenting makers label of Simoncini, Palermo with sweat guard intact
